Happy New Year and Resolutions for 2017

Happy New Year and Resolutions for 2017! My son spent Christmas with the flu and I spent New Year’s Eve and New Year Day the same way. Ugh. Happy New Year. We have all recovered, I’ve sterilized my house and I’m ready to move on.
Do you believe in resolutions? I looked up what a resolution is and found a few definitions. The one that struck me was, “the action of solving a problem, dispute, or contentious matter….the disappearance of inflammation, or of any other symptom or condition.” (according to my Siri dictionary)
In the past few months, I have been investigating my health a bit more with different doctors and therapies. With this, I believe inflammation is a major problem as far as a migraine trigger, intensity, frequency, and longevity. This year I’m hoping to reduce my inflammation. I’ll post about my new doctors and discoveries soon!
[UPDATE: 2021 GOALS]
Happy New Year
This year, I will be looking more closely at my diet and ways to calm my body. For the next few weeks, I hope to inspire you and motivate myself to eat less inflammatory foods and do more gentle exercises that make my body feel good. I’m not looking at calories, I’m not looking at weight loss, I’m not looking at intense crazy workouts. I’m talking about being gentle with myself and making me feel better!!!! The looks would be an added bonus, the goal is better health.
If you have recipes, workouts that make you feel good, or ways to decrease inflammation, I’d love to hear. If you have apps you love, programs you follow, or products you recommend, I’d love to look at those also. This year is about working together, taking advice and making it mine, and having some accountability to what I’m putting in my body, on my body, and how I’m moving my body.
Make my blog your support. Teamwork! Try what I’m trying, comment on what you are doing, and check in. We can do this. I want 2017 to be the year I learned something new about myself and made it better!
What’s your Resolution?
A review over the years:
My doctor recommended the Ketogenic diet for me. I’m going on it soon, gotta clean out the house first. 🙂
I’m trying to teach myself Tai Chi a little, through YouTube. We have the app on our TV so it’s big. I can’t tell you the videos, but they are very elementary and have captions, they slowly build up to more complicated moves. But really, it doesn’t seem too hard. (I’ve only done the first video so far, we’ll see.)
I resolve to take better care of me. No matter what.
My goal is to figure out why I’ve had a headache for 6 months and get it stopped! It’s been rough.
Wendy, let me know how the ketogenic diet goes. I know it will take a while to get into, but you can do it! The tai chi sounds perfect. I’ve tried to do things on my phone and an app on your tv will be helpful! Great resolution, check back and let’s stay accountable.
I’m there with you! I just got allergy tested, am seeing other Drs and am trying to figure out what we’ve been missing. Good luck, I hope you find answers.
