Today’s #MondayMotivation is a reminder to drop the “to do list” and focus on “being.”  I find this really, REALLY hard to do!!!!  I’m a mom, wife, teacher and migraine sufferer.  Where do I have time to just be?  With my migraines, I find I always have a list in my head to get done ahead of time preparing for a migraine.  I also have a list of things that accumulate while I have a migraine and am unable to do it. The list goes on…..

This week is the week before school.  My children are growing up so fast and my migraines make me miss so much! This week I’m going to focus on extending good night kisses, cuddling my babies longer, dancing more, being kinder to myself, letting go, being proud and getting lost in the moment.  I’m going to let go of the to do list while I have a migraine and not feel pressured to check off that list while I’m playing legos on the floor.

This seems nearly impossible, but I’m going to try! MUCH easier said than done……..

    Oh yes, this is something I find incredibly difficult to do as well! I really do hope you’re able to find some time to just ‘be’, to look after yourself and to not think about to do lists and guilt and stress. I know the only time I’ve managed this has been when I’ve been in the hospital, and the ability to do nothing quickly disappears as reality kicks back in at home. xx

    I agree, being away from home lessens my lists. When I feel like I’m home I feel like I have a million things to do. When I’m away, it puts the little things like laundry to the side.

    This is such an important reminder, especially for those of us who are chronically ill! I am also a mama and educator, like you, and can feel so worthless when the to do list goes days and days undone because all I can do are the bare essentials…work, caring for my daughter, self care, etc. But we are human beings, not human doings, and who we are is enough!

    Human beings not doings is such a perfect way to say it. The bare essentials are priorities and what matters.
