Shades for Migraine 2019
In 2017, the Association of Migraine Disorders created Shades for Migraine as a way to create a viral buzz around a disease that affects more than 1 billion people worldwide. The campaign challenges everyone to “show they care and wear a pair” of sunglasses on Migraine Solidarity Day (June 21st). Participants spread the message through social media by sharing a picture of themselves wearing sunglasses and challenging others to do so, too.
My Migraine Life is a blog partner of Shades for Migraine and has participated for years. Not only participating, but winning the photo contest in 2018 for not one but two photos.
Winning the pet category was bitter sweet for me. My amazing and always supportive therapy dog passed away before the results were given. Months after she passed, I found out that even in her death, my dog was still supporting and advocating for me. It was and remains a powerful moment. She was the definition of support animal.
Check out my social media for updated pics of this year and tag me in yours so I can share. It’s easy to participate!
I’ll start my day with a picture of some strong, inspiring advocates!
